HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY HYATT REGENCY SCOTTSDALE RESORT & SPA AT GAINEY RANCH!
30 Years of Celebrating and Making Memories…vacations, meetings, proposals, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, special events, cultural experiences, melt-in-your-mouth dining, ’Venice of the West’’
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (December 9, 2016) – Let’s take a step back 30 years. Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa brought a number of “firsts” to the Valley of the Sun.
-A 2.5-acre water extravaganza complete with 10 pools, a sand beach, 3-story waterslide, a 160’ aqueduct crossing over 6 pools, the “Big Gun” thunderfall, moving 600 gallons of water per minute through an opening into the reflecting pool, a part of the adult pool, jacuzzi-style spa that holds up to 30 people surrounded by four refrigerated pools, all housed in a Grecian-style Water Temple. It is a waterwork of art with 28 fountains, 47 waterfalls and a 7.5 acre waterway that surrounds the resort.
-An open-air lobby that brings the natural beauty and romance of our Sonoran southwest into the resort.
-Live nightly entertainment has been a signature of the resort for 365 evenings a year for 30 years or 10,950 nights continuously. Notable talent, such as classical flamenco guitarist, Esteban, began his career on our stage.
- Spa Avania is one of the world’s first resort spas and the first in the Valley of the Sun to choreograph all details of the spa experience to the science of time and the body’s internal daily time clock. It provides a holistic, total-immersion spa experience based on the elements deemed most essential to the body’s changing daily rhythms and requirements during the morning, midday and evening time periods. These elements include customized spa treatments, mineral water therapy, music styling, diet, the antioxidant benefits of fine teas and natural light.
-Often referred to as the “Venice of the West,” the resort officially christened and launched “Maria”, “Bella Angelina,” “Paolo,” and “Christina,” four Venetian gondolas that made their way from Italy via Venice’s Grand Canal, Greece, across the Atlantic, through the Caribbean and Panama Canal, up the coast of South America to Mexico, arriving in the port of Long Beach, California and finally, concluding their journey via truck to Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa, a trip totaling 7,000 miles. Another signature of the resort, visitors can enjoy nightly cruises along the resort’s waterways as they are serenaded by a singing gondolier.
-The Native American Learning Center, a collaborative venture between native artists, educators and the resort, was designed to provide an environment that educates resort guests and visitors on native history, culture and teachings.
